Last night I had 6 kids spend the night waiting for Jingles to foal. This afternoon I was out feeding and noticed her tail moving a little more than normal, a few small contractions, and she laid down, she was so big and un-comfortable that when she tried to get up it took her quiet awhile to get out of the sitting position like a dog.  So I climbed down off the tractor, locked her up, and wrapped her tail. Decided to go in and turn the recorder on and called the neighbors and said "we have a foot." Well the Read kids probably set a record getting her on their bicycles. When we walked into the barn only minutes later she had rolled over got herself cast up against the wall with four feet in the air and two little feet just sticking out. I ended up tying a rope around her hind feet to pull with and Robbie (who is only 10) grabbed her front leg well then rolled her over. By that time
Jingles was pretty nervous and upset and kept looking and talking to me saying help. When she finally laid down I got behind her and helped with a little pull. The kids got to do everything from Iodine on the navel to drying up sacking out, picking up feet. Plus with all their help it made for great opportunities for photos. Jingles is an awesome mom to put up with 6 kids and myself in the stall with her also.  I was hoping for 4 white socks and a white spot the on the rear, but the main things is we have a nice healthy Molly Mule.  This was about 5 this afternoon, if she hadn't had it it would have been another slumber party at Jehnet's. This way I get to go to bed tonight with out alarms going off every 2 hours. But painted lady won't be too far behind as she is now 11 months and 9 days gestation.
